Or so I’m told. I’m not your average girl and wear the same 2 pair of flip flops pretty much year round. I love living in California! But I digress….
I’m not normally much of a cross stitcher. My mom taught me when I was a kid but I haven’t done much since. Two of my favorite bloggers, Nana Company and Pretty By Hand, have been making some adorable projects that include some cross stitching. I started thumbing through a copy of Cross Stitcher magazine, looking for some cute designs and found this. This was a larger project than I was looking to make but it reminded me of my daughter, who loves her pink Converse high tops.
The magazine included a pattern to make a linen tote bag. I decided I needed to make something that would be
destroyed less loved less. I’ll hang this on the wall in my daughter’s room.
I’m not good at cross stitching directly on linen, so I used one of those wash away grids. I bordered the linen with some scraps and stapled it to a 12″x12″ canvas I bought from Michael’s. I’m pleased with how it turned out. My 8-year-old son is too. He wants a pair in red.
